What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site.
Think of cookies like a short-term memory for a website. When you visit thekpihub.com, cookies help us remember things like whether you are logged in, your preferences, and how you use our platform — so we can make your experience better the next time you visit.
How Cookies Work
- Your browser stores a cookie as a small file on your device when you visit our site.
- Every time you return to our site, your browser sends that cookie back to our server, allowing us to recognise you and recall your preferences.
- Cookies cannot execute programmes or deliver viruses. They are just data files.
Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we also use similar tracking technologies:
- Local Storage & Session Storage: Browser-based storage used to persist data (such as chatbot session context) within your browser without an expiry date (local storage) or until your browser tab is closed (session storage).
- Pixels / Web Beacons: Tiny transparent images embedded in pages or emails that signal when a page or email is opened.
- Device Fingerprinting: We do not use device fingerprinting techniques that identify you across sites without your consent.
Your control: You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. See Section 4 for browser-specific instructions. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform.
Types of Cookies We Use
We use four categories of cookies. The level of consent required and your ability to opt out varies by category:
We obtain your consent for non-essential cookies (Functional, Analytics, Marketing) via our cookie consent banner when you first visit the Platform. You may change your preferences at any time — see Section 6.

Managing Cookies in Your Browser
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find cookie controls in the "Privacy", "Security", or "Settings" menu of your browser. Below are direct instructions for the most common browsers:
Google Chrome
Go to Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. You can block all cookies, allow all, or customise by site. To clear existing cookies, go to Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data.
Chrome Cookie Help →Mozilla Firefox
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. You can choose Standard, Strict, or Custom Enhanced Tracking Protection. Click "Clear Data" to remove existing cookies.
Firefox Cookie Help →Apple Safari
Go to Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data. You can block all cookies or prevent cross-site tracking. Click "Remove All" to delete stored cookies and website data.
Safari Cookie Help →Microsoft Edge
Go to Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data. Edge offers Basic, Balanced, and Strict tracking prevention modes.
Edge Cookie Help →Mobile browsers: On iOS, go to Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security. On Android Chrome, tap the three-dot menu → Settings → Site settings → Cookies.
Please note that restricting or deleting cookies may impact your ability to use certain features of The KPI Hub, including staying logged in, remembering your preferences, and using the AI assistant effectively.
Clearing localStorage (Chatbot Data)
The chatbot session data stored in localStorage is not a traditional cookie and is not cleared by the standard "clear cookies" function. To remove it:
- Chrome / Edge: DevTools → Application tab → Local Storage → right-click on thekpihub.com → Clear
- Firefox: DevTools → Storage tab → Local Storage → right-click → Delete All
- Safari: Develop menu → Show Web Inspector → Storage → Local Storage → delete entries
- Alternatively, clearing "All site data" via your browser's privacy settings will remove localStorage.
Analytics Opt-Out
We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the Platform. If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can use the official Google opt-out tool:
Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on:
tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Installing this browser extension prevents Google Analytics from collecting your data on any website that uses it.
Additionally, you can control analytics cookies specifically on our Platform by:
- Declining analytics cookies in our cookie consent banner when you first visit
- Withdrawing your consent via "Cookie Settings" in the footer (see Section 6)
- Using your browser's "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal — we respect DNT where technically feasible
Note: Opting out of Google Analytics on our Platform does not affect Google's data collection on other sites, and vice versa.
Withdrawing Your Consent
You may withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time. Your consent applies only to non-essential cookies — strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the Platform to function.
How to Change or Withdraw Consent
- Cookie Settings link: Click the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page on thekpihub.com to reopen the consent banner and update your preferences.
- Clear browser cookies: Deleting the
cookie_consentcookie from your browser will reset your consent status. The next time you visit the Platform, the consent banner will reappear. - Email request: You may also email us at info@thekpihub.com to request that all non-essential cookies be disabled for your account.
Effect of withdrawal: Withdrawing consent for analytics or marketing cookies stops future data collection by those technologies. It does not delete historical data already collected before you withdrew consent. To request deletion of historical data, see our Privacy Policy (Section 9 – GDPR Rights / Section 10 – CCPA Rights).
Third-Party Cookie Providers
Some cookies on thekpihub.com are set by third-party services. These providers have their own privacy policies governing how they use the data collected through their cookies. We have no control over third-party cookies once they are set.
| Provider | Service | Cookie(s) | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google LLC | Google Analytics — web usage analytics | _ga, _gid, _gat |
policies.google.com/privacy |
| Meta Platforms, Inc. | Meta Pixel — advertising and retargeting (when marketing cookies accepted) | _fbp |
facebook.com/privacy/policy |
| Email Service Provider (ESP) | Transactional and marketing email delivery tracking (open/click pixels) | Email tracking pixels | Varies by ESP — see our Privacy Policy Section 7 for current processor list |
| Cloud Hosting Provider | Infrastructure — load balancer and CDN session cookies | Provider-specific session identifiers | Varies by provider — see our Privacy Policy Section 7 |
We review our third-party providers periodically and update this table as our provider list changes. We require all third-party providers to process data in accordance with applicable data protection law and under appropriate data processing agreements.
GDPR & CCPA Compliance
GDPR (EU / EEA)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the placement of non-essential cookies on your device requires your prior, freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent. We comply with this requirement by:
- Presenting a cookie consent banner on your first visit before placing any non-essential cookies
- Categorising cookies clearly and obtaining consent by category
- Making it as easy to decline cookies as it is to accept them
- Allowing you to withdraw consent at any time (see Section 6)
- Recording and storing consent decisions as required by GDPR Article 7
- Not using "consent walls" that deny access to the Platform if you decline non-essential cookies
The legal basis for strictly necessary cookies is our legitimate interest in operating the Platform (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and the performance of a contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)). All other cookies require your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
CCPA (California)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, some cookies (particularly analytics and marketing cookies) may constitute "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising purposes. We address this as follows:
- We do not "sell" personal information collected via cookies for monetary consideration.
- To the extent analytics or marketing cookies constitute "sharing" under CCPA, California residents may opt out by declining those categories in our cookie consent banner or by emailing info@thekpihub.com with the subject line "Do Not Share My Data".
- We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of sharing where technically feasible.
India DPDP Act 2023: We treat cookie-related consent in accordance with the notice and consent requirements of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Our cookie consent mechanism constitutes the required "notice" under the Act, and your affirmative consent action (accepting cookies) constitutes valid consent under Section 6 of the DPDP Act.
Policy Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our use of cookies, new technology, regulatory requirements, or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
When we make material changes to this policy, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify registered users via email where the changes are significant
- Reset cookie consent banners if the changes affect the scope of consent previously obtained
We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after an updated policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
| Version | Date | Summary |
