What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site.

Think of cookies like a short-term memory for a website. When you visit thekpihub.com, cookies help us remember things like whether you are logged in, your preferences, and how you use our platform — so we can make your experience better the next time you visit.

How Cookies Work

Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, we also use similar tracking technologies:

Your control: You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. See Section 4 for browser-specific instructions. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform.

02

Types of Cookies We Use

We use four categories of cookies. The level of consent required and your ability to opt out varies by category:

We obtain your consent for non-essential cookies (Functional, Analytics, Marketing) via our cookie consent banner when you first visit the Platform. You may change your preferences at any time — see Section 6.

03

Full Cookie Table

The following table lists all cookies and similar technologies currently in use on thekpihub.com:

Cookie Name Provider Purpose Duration Type

_kpihub_csrf The KPI Hub Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) protection token. Prevents unauthorised form submissions. Session Necessary

_kpihub_prefs The KPI Hub Remembers your display preferences and settings within the Platform (e.g., theme, layout choices). 12 months Functional
_ga Google Analytics Registers a unique ID to generate statistical data about how you use the Platform. Used to distinguish users. 2 years Analytics

_gat Google Analytics Used to throttle the rate of requests to Google Analytics servers. 1 minute Analytics
chatbot_session (localStorage) The KPI Hub Stores your current chatbot / AI assistant conversation context in browser local storage so the assistant maintains continuity within a session. Not a traditional cookie — stored in localStorage in your browser. Until cleared Functional
_fbp Meta (Facebook) Used by Meta to deliver, measure, and improve the relevance of advertisements on Facebook and across the web (retargeting). Only set if marketing cookies are accepted. 3 months Marketing
_kpihub_utm The KPI Hub Stores UTM campaign parameters (source, medium, campaign) from the URL when you first visit, to help us understand which marketing channels are most effective. 30 days Analytics

This table is updated whenever we add or remove cookies. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Please note that restricting or deleting cookies may impact your ability to use certain features of The KPI Hub, including staying logged in, remembering your preferences, and using the AI assistant effectively.

Clearing localStorage (Chatbot Data)

The chatbot session data stored in localStorage is not a traditional cookie and is not cleared by the standard "clear cookies" function. To remove it:

05

Analytics Opt-Out

We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the Platform. If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can use the official Google opt-out tool:

Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on:
tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Installing this browser extension prevents Google Analytics from collecting your data on any website that uses it.

Additionally, you can control analytics cookies specifically on our Platform by:

Note: Opting out of Google Analytics on our Platform does not affect Google's data collection on other sites, and vice versa.

06

Withdrawing Your Consent

You may withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time. Your consent applies only to non-essential cookies — strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the Platform to function.

How to Change or Withdraw Consent

Effect of withdrawal: Withdrawing consent for analytics or marketing cookies stops future data collection by those technologies. It does not delete historical data already collected before you withdrew consent. To request deletion of historical data, see our Privacy Policy (Section 9 – GDPR Rights / Section 10 – CCPA Rights).

07

Third-Party Cookie Providers

Some cookies on thekpihub.com are set by third-party services. These providers have their own privacy policies governing how they use the data collected through their cookies. We have no control over third-party cookies once they are set.

Provider Service Cookie(s) Privacy Policy

We review our third-party providers periodically and update this table as our provider list changes. We require all third-party providers to process data in accordance with applicable data protection law and under appropriate data processing agreements.

08

GDPR & CCPA Compliance

GDPR (EU / EEA)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the placement of non-essential cookies on your device requires your prior, freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent. We comply with this requirement by:

The legal basis for strictly necessary cookies is our legitimate interest in operating the Platform (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and the performance of a contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)). All other cookies require your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).

CCPA (California)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, some cookies (particularly analytics and marketing cookies) may constitute "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising purposes. We address this as follows:

India DPDP Act 2023: We treat cookie-related consent in accordance with the notice and consent requirements of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Our cookie consent mechanism constitutes the required "notice" under the Act, and your affirmative consent action (accepting cookies) constitutes valid consent under Section 6 of the DPDP Act.

09
